Laub's motels house homeless from Mizpah fire

The Laub family, known for its high-profile Reno attorneys, stepped forward the day after the Mizpah Hotel fire to donate motel rooms to house about 30 people left homeless.

The refuges have been put up at the El Ray and Star of Reno motels, owned by Melvin and Joe Laub. The motels are located in the Mizpah area, so provide the displaced residents easy access to their places of work.

"We want to help to provide these folks with a warm place to sleep and feel safe while they're recovering from this nightmare," said Joe Laub. "It's tragic times like this we need to give back to the community we live in."

The Laubs also give toys to the kids and provide a dining hall turkey dinner for the motel-dwelling families during the holidays.
