New category in collegiate business plan competition

Nevada students striving to win cash prizes in the 2007 Governor's Cup business plan competition will have an extra opportunity to win next year, with the addition of a Lieutenant Governor's award for proposals using clean and renewable energy sources.

And, next year's winners will be invited to present to the Silver ad Gold venture capital conference, says Dave Archer, executive director of Nevada's Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology, which manages the Governor's Cup.

The competition is funded by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation and by private business sponsors. Student finalists take home more than $100,000 in awards.
