Oil well drilling suspended

Empire Petroleum Corp. said last week it suspended drilling at a wildcat oil prospect in Nye County.

The company based at Oklahoma City said the geology of the well proved more complicated than expected, and it's taking at least three weeks to analyze the data before it decides whether to continue. The drilling reached 5,198 feet before it was suspended.
