Betty Gorman

Betty Gorman will become executive director of the Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce, South Shore the organization formed through the merger of the South Lake Tahoe and Tahoe Douglas Chambers of Commerce on Oct. 2.

Gorman previously worked as northern California regional director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. She has held executive positions with the association since 1997.

She also has worked in executive positions with Bear Valley Music Festival, Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys, Calif., and Copper Mountain ski area in Colorado.

Gorman holds a law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law, a bachelor's degree in marketing from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, and an associate's degree in merchandising from Bassist Institute in Portland, Ore.
