Reno-based West Coast Contractors of Nevada, Inc. last week won a $9. 45 million contract for the construction of the California National Historic Trails Interpretive Center 10 miles west of Elko.
The project includes a 16,000-square-foot building and an interpretive plaza on an 11-acre site. The Bureau of Land Management is overseeing the project funded by state, federal and Elko-area agencies.
The construction is expected to take 18 to 20 months.
