John B. Ackerman, who has been chief metallurgist for the Turquoise Ridge gold mine northeast of Winnemucca for 11 years, has been named mill manager and chief metallurgist of Sterling Mining Company's Sunshine Mine, scheduled to open this year in northern Idaho.
