Brokers join forces, launch commercial real estate firm

Commercial real estate brokers who previously worked with NAI Gallagher Commercial and CB Richard Ellis in Reno have teamed to create a new firm, Commercial Partners of Nevada.

Principals of the firm include Ron Cobb (the managing principal), Bruce Breslow, Peter Ghishan and Frank Gallagher.

Cobb, Breslow and Ghishan previously worked at CB Richard Ellis; Gallagher led the NAI Gallagher Commercial office, which had operated as Hale, Day, Gallagher before its affiliation with NAI.

Also joining the company from CB Richard Ellis are Scott Borgia, Lisa Lyons, Sam Kuhlman and Shannon Sayre.

Joining the group from NAI Gallagher are Bernard Venneman, Jennifer Johnson and Caroline Guedes Wojcik.

The new firm's office is at 5190 Neil Road.

Cobb said the firm, which had 30 listings when it opened for business, will handle office, industrial, retail and land transactions as well as property management.

In addition, he noted the principals' experience, particularly in land transactions, will enable the firm to play a key role in work such as acquisition of water rights, financing a transaction or shepherding a project through the entitlements process of local governments.

Gallagher said the creation of a new firm began to come to reality during a lunch that he and Cobb had scheduled to discuss a different matter.

They began comparing notes about their philosophies and their desires to open a firm unencumbered with the red-tape that accompanies an affiliation with a national firm. Finding agreement, they moved quickly to assemble Commercial Partners of Nevada.

"When we come to work each day, our job is to create value," Gallagher said.
