Ormat Technologies Inc. of Reno said last week it signed a $5.7 million contract to provide a recovered-energy generation facility at a cement plant at Martinsburg, W. Va.
The facility, to be installed over the next 14 months, will generate electricity by heated exhaust air from the cement plant. The plant is owned by an Italian company, Italcementi Group.
Separately, Ormat said it earned $8.5 million on revenues of $84 million in the second quarter. This compares with net of $8.4 million on revenues of $64.1 million in the comparable quarter a year earlier.
