'Green' design to be featured at AIA regional event

About 300 architects and interior designers from six Western states Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico and Nevada will meet at Incline Village for their regional conference Sept. 12-16.

Sustainable building design will be the theme of the conference sponsored by the American Institute of Architects, Northern Nevada Chapter.

Speakers will include Edward Mazria, founder of Architecture 2030, a program to dramatically reduce use of fossil fuels in building construction and operation.

The conference will include a"green" trade show and expo limited to 30 booths, and the AIA chapter expects that 20 of the booths will feature products and services related to sustainable design and building.

For information on expo booths, contact Judy and Jerry Brooks at 827-4441.
