Trammell Crow Co. has started construction on a 310,000-square-foot distribution center at Tahoe Reno Industrial Center that it has leased to Tire Rack, an Indiana-based tire retailer.
Tire Rack, a family-owned company based at South Bend, Ind., sells tires via the Internet and mail order. The new facility at TRIC will allow expansion of a distribution operation that currently works from a facility at 1061 Glendale in Sparks.
The company also operates distribution facilities in Indiana, Georgia and Louisiana.
The warehouse for Tire Rack is the first of two buildings Trammell Crow plans on a 47-acre site at TRIC. With the first building leased, work on the second, which will be nearly 500,000 square feet, is beginning.
