Venture capital conference planned

The 7th Annual Silver and Gold Conference venture capital conference is scheduled Oct. 22-23 at the Siena Hotel Resort Casino.

It's expected to draw more than 40 venture capital and angel investors to hear presentations from 30 entrepreneurial companies in Nevada and Northern California.

The event is sponsored by Nevada's Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology, Golden Capital Network, and the Sierra Angels.

New this year will the "Best of the West Early Stage Expo," which brings together entrepreneurs, angel investors, business and technology executives, venture capitalists and providers of professional services in an opening reception.

Start-up and early-stage growth companies that would like to be featured at the conference must submit up to a three-page executive summary via e-mail to entrepreneur@goldencapital.net.

A pre-conference seminar, "Power of Angel Investing" is scheduled Oct. 22. It's a program of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and Angel Capital Education Foundation. It's led by Bill Payne, entrepreneur-in-residence of the Kauffman Foundation.

Also scheduled as a pre-conference event is a half-day forum dubbed "entrepreneur's boot camp" sponsored by Golden Capital Network.
