Yamana Gold Inc. filed documents with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for an unsolicited tender offer to acquire all of the outstanding common shares of Meridian Gold on the basis of 2.235 Yamana common shares and $3.15 (Canadian) in cash for each common share of Meridian Gold.
