Jim and Jeff Phalan of Carson City-based High Sierra Food and Beverage Inc. have inked a multi-unit franchise agreement with the Firkin Group of Pubs, a chain based in Markham, Ontario.
High Sierra Food and Beverage Inc will bring three pubs to northern Nevada, with the first scheduled to open this fall in Carson City.
Jim Phalan recently sold his company Resort WiFi LLC, a network of public wireless Internet access points placed in resorts, campgrounds, marinas and other public gathering areas, to Wayport one of the largest wi-fi distributors in the hospitality business.
In addition to the three pubs in Nevada, High Sierra Food and Beverage Inc bought the rights to two more units in California. Development dates have yet to be set on the California stores.
Firkin currently has 40 units open in North America and 150 pubs in development in the United States.
