John Atwell has been named chief operating officer of Reno-based Dermody Properties.
Atwell previously served as director of development of the western region for First Industrial Realty-Trust. Atwell, who has led in the development of more than 15 million square feet of commercial real estate in his 20-career career, also has worked as senior vice president and development manager for Trammell Crow Co. in Irvine, Calif., as a vice president of Robert Pattillo Properties, and as chief financial officer of Weeks Corp.
He earned a bachelor's degree from Dickinson College and a master's in business administration from the University of North Carolina.
