Steve Haley of Keller Williams Group One has been recognized as Realtor of the Year by the Reno/Sparks Association of Realtors. He was president of the association in 2006 and treasurer of the Nevada Association of Realtors this year.
Reed Simmons of Dickson Realty, meanwhile, received the organization's Matt Gibbon Award, which recognizes service to the association and volunteerism in the community. Simmons serves as chair of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada in 2004 and 2005.
Gary Canepa of RE/MAX Realty Affiliates received the Abraham Curry Award for service to the real estate industry and the northern Nevada community. Canepa was the 1993 president of the Reno/Sparks Association of Realtors and the 2007 recipient of the Northern Nevada MS Society's Hope Award.
Mark Ashworth of A & H Insurance won the Affiliate of the Year Award.
Janice Copple of Coldwell Banker Plummer & Associates was presented with the "Educator of the Year" award. Copple serves on the state real estate commission and has led educational and professional standards efforts.
