New rural prize in Governor's Cup

The awards in the 2008 Donald W. Reynolds Governor's Cup business plan competition were boosted last week with the announcement of a $2,500 cash prize for the business plan that best serves the economic needs of rural Nevada.

The NCED Commissioners' Award and its cash award were created by the Nevada Commission on Economic Development. The award is intended to recognize the agency's past commissioners.

The economic development commission will judge the business plan entries from the undergraduate and graduate Governor's Cup participants to determine the winner of the award.

The Governor's Cup contest, open to Nevada college and university students, will run through the spring with winners being announced April 25.
