Derek Norpchen has joined the Desert Research Institute as a staff visualization scientist.
He previously worked at the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency as a Geographic Information System specialist, an air-quality project manager, and a graphic illustrator.
Norpchen holds a bachelor's degree in three-dimensional digital graphics and a bachelor's degree in environmental policy, both from Sierra Nevada College.
