The Sparks Chamber of Commerce will launch the Northern Nevada Business Summit, a forum for discussion of business issues, May 8 at Atlantis Casino Resort.
The free event will run from 5-9 p.m.
Agencies on hand to provide business tips and tools will include the University of Nevada Small Business Development Center, City of Sparks Economic Development division, Sparks Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Nevada Microenterprise Initiative, SCORE, Nevadaworks, City of Reno and the Small Business Administration.
"Northern Nevada has a number of outstanding programs and organizations that are dedicated to providing businesses with the resources and education necessary to ensure they succeed; we just need to help make businesses aware of them," said Len Stevens, executive director of the chamber of commerce.
An evening town hall meeting, meanwhile, will allow business owners and others to discuss issues and trends and share ideas for continued business growth.
