Christopher G. Nielsen has been named as general counsel to Gov. Jim Gibbons.
Nielsen previously worked as deputy executive director of the Nevada Department of Taxation. He also has worked as a senior deputy attorney general for the state.
He graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a bachelor's degree in biology and earned his law degree from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law.
He succeeds Josh Hicks, who was promoted to chief of staff by Gibbons.
