Miles Construction of Mound House has started work on a 7,700-square-foot fire station in Silver Springs for the Lyon County Fire District.
The $1.9 million facility was designed by Carson City's J.P. Copoulos, Architect. The building incorporates green building designs such as solar panels that heat an in-floor system, advanced insulation techniques and high-performance glass, said Lyon County Fire Chief John Gillenwater.
