Inc. Magazine:?Three regional firms among fastest growing

Three northern Nevada companies are among the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in America as identified by Inc. Magazine.

Recognized were Modern Concrete of Elko, which ranked No. 106 on the list; Land Resource Investments of Sparks, which ranked No. 1,577; and High

Sierra Painting of Sparks, which ranked No. 2,244.

Modern Concrete posted revenues of $7 million in 2004 compared with revenues of $357,886 in 2004. The company, which has 33 employees, said its growth has been fueled by the boom in the mining industry as it specializes in concrete pours in remote and difficult areas.

Land Resource Investments, which works with investors to purchase and bank land in high-growth areas, posted revenues of $7.7 million last year compared with revenues of $2.3 million in 2004. It employs 20.

High Sierra Painting, which has 85 employees, posted revenues of $4.5 million in 2007. That compares with revenues of $1.7 million in 2004 for the commercial and residential painting service.

The Inc. Magazine listing of fast-growing private companies is developed from applications filed by the companies themselves. Companies must be based in the United States, must have had 2007 sales of at least $2 million and 2004 revenues of at least $200,000.
