Recruiting events on hold

Everyone was so pumped up about the results of a late-June event designed to begin recruiting Bay Area workers to northern Nevada that they began sketching out similar events across the country but then the economy interfered.

Sixteen companies from northern Nevada courted about 100 potential job applicants at the San Francisco event spearheaded by the Economic Development Authority of Northern Nevada. But plans for future recruiting events are on hold.

"The companies involved in the San Francisco worker recruiting event are interested in pursuing it in the future, but given the current economic conditions, need to hold off until the market settles," says EDAWN's Julie Ardito.
