Realty site expands Reno presence

An Internet entrepreneur's plans to offer Realtors another online portal to list properties has met success in Reno and elsewhere, says Todd Murphy, chief executive officer of MyREALTY.com.

Murphy, a longtime real estate broker and investor in the Helena, Mont. area, founded the company two

Years ago and launched the Web site in the fourth quarter of 2007.

Company officials were in Reno a few days ago to pitch the site real estate executives, signing on offices that include Century 21, Dickson Realty, Chase International, Keller Williams, and RE/MAX.

Nearly 800 brokers nationwide are pushing listings to the site, and there are more than 100,000 MLS listings in the site's database.

Murphy says one of the reasons for MyREALTY.com's quick adoption is that its free Global Listing Service of residential and commercial real estate, as well as land, offers property information in North America and throughout the world. It also lists for-sale-by-owners properties and foreclosure data.

"We are a marketing company; we are not brokers. We will take leads from anywhere," he says.

The company generates revenue through site advertising, selling users property reports and enhanced virtual tours of listings, and by providing agents with stylized contact information, such as a video clip, for a monthly fee.

"Brokers understand they need to do their client as much good as possible, and by syndicating their data we are exposing it to the world," he says.
