An electric dragster powered by batteries made by Reno's Altair Nanotechnologies has set a world speed record for electric vehicles.
The dragster driven by Dennis Berube of Laveen, Ariz., traveled a quarter mile in 7.963 seconds the equivalent of 160.65 miles per hour at a track in Tucson.
