Jeff Sawyer

Jeff Sawyer has joined Equity Lending Partners in Reno as a lending officer.

Sawyer, who has worked in the mortgage business for more than 10 years, most recently worked for MLSG Home Loans in Reno. He also has worked as a commercial, residential and wholesale mortgage lender in California.

Martin Mickey

Martin Mickey has joined Clearstar Financial Credit Union as business services manager.

Mickey, who has six years of lending experience, previously worked for First Independent Bank of Nevada. He began his banking career with US Bank in his hometown, Torrington, Wyo.

Cathy Mogavero

Cathy Mogavero has joined the sales staff of RE/MAX Realty Affiliates in Reno.

Mogavero has been a Realtor for four years. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration.

Allen Arvizu

Allen Arvizu has been hired as vice president of finance and technology and chief financial officer for Clearstar Financial Credit Union.

Arvizu previously was vice president and chief financial officer of Financial 21 Community Credit Union in San Diego and also worked as accounting manager for North County Credit Union in San Diego.

He attended National University.

Chris Fairchild

Chris Fairchild has joined the industrial team of Grubb & Ellis|NCG as an associate.

Fairchild previously worked at Industrial Properties of Nevada. Before he began work in commercial real estate brokerage, Fairchild helped establish the real estate resource division of Ticor Title of Northern Nevada.

He earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 2001.

Gary Tremaine

Gary Tremaine has joined the Reno office of CB Richard Ellis, where he will specialize in retail leasing and work with Chris Waizmann of the CB Richard Ellis staff.

Tremaine, who has 16 years experience in property sales and leasing, previously worked since 2000 as a commercial sales and leasing agent with Metzker Johnson Group in Reno.

Bob Kirtley

Bob Kirtley has joined the certified public accounting firm of Kafoury, Armstrong & Co. as a staff accountant in its Reno office.

Kirtley previously worked as director of global operations for Microsoft Capital in Reno.

He earned a master's of business administration degree in finance from Indiana University.

Ryan Palmer

Ryan Palmer has been hired as a sales executive at Noble Studios, a marketing and Web development company in Carson City.

Palmer previously worked in advertising positions with newspapers and magazines in northern Nevada and California.

He earned a degree in studio arts and psychology from the University of Wisconsin.

Matt Tingley

Matt Tingley has joined Moana Nursery as an associate in its landscape planning and design division.

Tingley recently graduated from Colorado State University with a bachelor's degree in landscape, design and contracting. He worked as an intern for Moana Nursery last summer.

Erin L. Smith

Erin L. Smith has been promoted by Hometown Health to provider services specialist.

Smith, who has worked for Hometown Health for three years, previously was a customer services representative with the company.

She earned an associate's degree in business from Truckee Meadows Community College.

Tom Young

Tom Young, a commercial real estate broker with Fennell & Associates, has been appointed by the Reno City Council to the board of directors of Truckee Meadows Water Authority.

Lonnie Johnson

Catherine Harrison, Chris Holman and Lonnie Johnson of CFA Inc. in Reno have passed the professional examination for civil engineers in Nevada.

Harrison, who joined CFA in 2005, earned a master's degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Holman, who has worked for CFA for nearly three years, earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.

Johnson, who has worked seven years as a civil, environmental and research engineer, joined CFA in 2006. He earned a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering and a master's degree in civil and environmental engineering, both from Utah State University.
