Nominations are now being accepted for the 24th Annual Governor's Industry Appreciation Awards.
The awards recognize new businesses that have moved to northern Nevada and existing companies that experienced substantial growth during the past year.
Nominations are due August 8. Nomination forms and award criteria are available at www.giaa2008.com.
Companies will be honored during the Governor's Industry Appreciation Awards event Nov. 6 at John Ascuaga's Nugget.
Event organizers for the first time this year have expanded the "Distinguished Business of the Year" award to include four new categories to recognize companies in the categories of community support, innovation, start-up and educational support and workforce.
The Governor's Industry Appreciation Awards are co-sponsored by the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada and Northern Nevada Development Authority in cooperation with the Nevada Commission on Economic Development.
