Cascade Living Group plans senior center

Cascade Living Group Inc. breaks ground this month on a 240-apartment senior living campus at Spanish Springs. The three-story, 243,000-square-foot complex is set on seven acres about 10 miles from downtown Reno.

It will include 120 independent living,

96 assisted living and 24 memory care apartments, says Kim Wagner, director of sales and marketing.

Cascade Living Group says about 240 residents will move into the facility on Neighbor-hood Way when it opens in June 2009.

The campus will feature a bistro, business center, computer lab, indoor pool, spa, fitness and wellness center, beauty salon, library, theatre, dining room, and game room.

Outdoor amenities include covered a pavilion with fireplace and cooking facilities, gardens, greenhouse, courtyard, and walking paths. It adjoins the future site of Renown Health.

Building design is by LRS Architects of Portland, Ore., general contactor is Brown Construction of Sacramento, and the civil engineering firm is C&M Engineering of Reno. The interior designer is Warner Design Associates of San Carlos, Calif., and the landscape architect is Hansen Landscape Architects of Sparks.

"Cascades of the Sierra will be our flagship property," says Dale Zulaf, a founding partner of Cascade Living Group.

Cascade Living Group was founded in 2005 and operates communities in California and Washington.
