Utah company to open auction yard

TNT Auctions, a company headquartered at Salt Lake City, plans to launch a sales yard at Tahoe Reno Industrial Center.

The company purchased nine acres for $883,070 at the center in a deal brokered by Lance Gilman of L. Lance Gilman Commercial Real Estate Services.

The company is grading the property and plans to conduct three or four auctions a year at the site.

TNT Auctions specializes in sales of surplus equipment for local government such as cities and school districts and also handles auctions of privately owned property for contractors, banks and other businesses.

Some fleet automobiles already are stored at the Storey County site in anticipation of the first auction.

Mike McGee, a spokesman for TNT Auctions, said it plans its first sale at the property in October although it may move up the date.

TNT also operates auction yards at Las Vegas and Salt Lake City.
