BMC West closes its plant at Minden

BMC West Building Materials has ceased operations at its Minden plant.

The move is part of a company wide consolidation, says Rick Seavy, general manager of northern Nevada operations, for the company, which is owned by publicly held Building Materials Holding Corp. of San Francisco.

The 30,000-square-foot building, with a 7,000-square-foot ancillary building, is set on 10 acres at 2587 Business Parkway off Johnson Lane. It's being offered for sale for $3 million through Gary Moreira and Dan Buhrmann at Grubb and Ellis/NCG.

Some of the 35 employees at the lumber and trusses company have transferred to BMC's Sparks location, says Seavy, but he didn't provide an exact number.
