Pier 1 sets return to Reno

Pier 1 Imports has leased 10,440 square feet at Del Monte Plaza and plans to open a store next spring.

The center anchored by Whole Foods Market is owned by Kimco Realty Inc.

Pier 1 has set March 20 as a tentative opening date, says Whitney Rogers, a company spokeswoman.

A Pier 1 location operated by Washoe Arc under license was previously in business at Smithridge Shopping Center until the 20-year license held by Washoe Arc expired in 2007.

Beck Shoes also signed a lease for a 1,900-square-foot store in the shopping center at Neil Road and South Virginia Street.
