Don McKinnon has been named mining superintendent of the Hollister Mine operated by Great Basin Gold Ltd. in Elko County, and Richard Yancey has been named chief geologist of the property.
McKinnon, who has 40 years of mining experience, previously worked as a mine manager, general manager and vice president of underground operations for Kinross Gold and Nuinsco Resources.
He is a graduate of the Haileybury School of Mines in northern Ontario.
Yancey, who has worked in the mining industry for 20 years, previously worked at the Barrick Gold Cortez Hills project in Nevada. He also has worked for the Doe Run Co.
He studied geology at the Missouri School of Mines.
