More than 20 construction companies in northern Nevada will be recognized for safe performance during the annual Golden Hard Hat Luncheon sponsored by the Nevada Chapter of the Associated General Contractors Wednesday.
The event begins at 11:30 at the Fifth Floor Poolside Terrace at John Ascuaga's Nugget.
The awards are based on lost time from accidents as a percent of the total number of hours worked in the past year.
Keynote speaker will be Steven Hultgren, safety manager for Georgia Pacific Gypsum LLC of Lovell, Wyo., who lost his brother-in-law to a workplace fatality in the summer of 2000.
