TeleAdapt lands Tokyo hotel contract

A Japanese luxury hotel is the latest MediaHub installation site for TeleAdapt Inc.

"One in every suite of the Hotel Nikko Tokyo," says Cheryl McGinty, partner marketing manager, Americas, at TeleAdapt's sales office in Sparks.

The plug and play technology lets a traveler plug in an iPod or MP3 player and play their personal music and video selections on the rooms' large screen TVs.

It's the company's first media hub installation in Japan.

"JALhotels is parent company of Hotel Nikko, and is known as a trend setter," she adds. "Hospitality is definitely a copycat industry. If one property has it, the others want it too."

TeleAdapt, headquartered in Britain, has regional offices in China and Hong Kong, from which the sale was made, says McGinty. "If our sales people can say our technology is international, not just in the U.S., that's important."
