Saturna Capital, a registered investment advisory firm headquartered at Bellingham, Wash., has launched a trust company in Reno.
The trust company, Saturna Trust Co., employs one person in Nevada, said Nick Kaiser, president of Saturna Capital. He said the firm selected Nevada as a home for its trust company because of the state's tax structure and because of what he called Nevada's "low hassle factor."
Saturna was advised on the establishment and licensing of the trust by Jerry Cooper, Scott Walshaw and Ginger Ogan of Garrison Institutional Services LLC of Reno.
