Karen Thiele, quality improvement coordinator for the Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority's Care Flight service in Reno, was recognized as a National Star of Life Award honoree by the American Ambulance Association.
Thiele was recognized for her work to allow for more efficient transport of burn victims from the region served by Care Flight to the University of California, Davis, burn-treatment facilities in Sacramento.
