Wells top SBA lender

Wells Fargo & Company wrote the most 7(a) loans guaranteed by the Small Business Administration in Nevada during the federal fiscal year that ended Sept. 30.

The company, together with Wachovia, which it acquired early this year, wrote 48 loans totaling $15.8 million through the SBA program.

The 7(a) program is provided by SBA to lenders for loans to small businesses for working capital, buildings and equipment.
