Five contractors lose state licenses

The Nevada State Contractors Board has revoked the licenses of five contractors in northern Nevada and suspended the licenses of two more.

The license of M T S Stone Works of Sparks was suspended after the contractors board found it failed to establish financial responsibility and failed to communicate properly with the board. The company also was fined $1,250 and ordered to make full restitution to clients.

Willful disregard of safety or labor laws and failure to establish financial responsibility led to the revocation of the contractor license held by Pro Touch Inc., a painting company in Reno. The company was fined $1,500 and ordered to make restitution.

The license of J M Roofing of Stateline was revoked after the board found it completed substandard workmanship and violated several other laws. The company also was fined $2,350 and ordered to make restitution.

The license of Dayton Builders and Concrete of Dayton was revoked. The board said the company completed substandard work, failed to establish financial responsibility and violated several other laws. It was fined $2,850 and ordered to pay restitution.

Substandard workmanship and failure to establish financial responsibility led to revocation of the license held by J E Martensen Landscaping of Sparks. The company was fined $2,000 and ordered to pay restitution.

The license of Rocky Mountain Excavation of Reno was suspended after the board found it failed to pay bills, diverted funds and failed to discharge a lien.

The board suspended the license of Meredith Construction Inc. while it continues its deliberation of a complaint against the company.
