Paper-products manufacturer expands into new Reno facility

Burrows Paper Corp., which makes lightweight paper and specialty products for markets worldwide, said last week it's nearing the start of operations in a new manufacturing plant in Reno.

The company headquartered at Little Falls, N.Y., has leased a 97,500-square-foot facility at 6650 Echo Ave. Burrows has operated a facility in Reno since 1998, producing specialty packaging for the quick-serve restaurant industry.

Joseph Cmielewski of Burrows said the company will be able to better serve its West Coast customers, including western Canada and Mexico, from the new facility.

The company doesn't expect to add to its current workforce in Reno, and about 40 people will work at the expanded facility, which is scheduled to start operations Nov. 1.

Tom Miller of Miller Industrial Properties represented Burrows Paper in its lease negotiations. Eleven years earlier, Miller had represented the company when it leased its first Reno-area location.

The owner of the new location, Panattoni Development, was represented by the industrial team of NAI Alliance.
