NV Energy plant honored

Employees at NV Energy's Fort Churchill Generating Station near Yerington have been recognized by the Edison Electric Institute for working more than 1.5 million hours without a lost-time accident.

The plant has operated more than 23 years without a lost-time accident and ranks second nationwide among similar-sized facilities for the longest record without a lost-time accident. Among all power plants in the nation, it ranks sixth.

The facility employs 33.
