Karl Wahlquist, corporate communications director for NV Energy, has been named to the Hall of Fame of the Sierra Nevada Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
Wahlquist, a member of the NV Energy staff for more than two decades, also has worked in media relations for Harrah's.
His son, Scott Wahlquist, integrated marketing communications manager for the Reno-based agency KPS|3, won the chapter's "Mark Curtis Senior Award," which recognizes service to PRSA.
Also recognized was Natalie Savidge, media specialist at the University of Nevada, Reno, as an outstanding new practitioner.
Sherri Rice, executive director of Access to Healthcare Network, won the group's Mark Twain Community Service Award.
