Sierra Nevada contract

Sierra Nevada Corp. of Sparks has won a $20 million contract to help NASA deliver commercially provided flights to ferry astronauts to the International Space Station.

The Sierra Nevada "Dream Chaser" entry is based on NASA's old HL-20 lifting body, and will continue work done under an unfunded Space Act agreement with $20 million in stimulus funds.

The Sierra Nevada Corp. operation at Louisville, Colo., will work on the project.
