Itronics reports progress

Itronics Inc. of Reno said last week it's completed preliminary engineering of a planned expansion of its silver refining operation in Reno.

The company, which recovers silver from photochemical liquids, plans to expand its refining capacity to 2.4 million ounces of silver a year.

Currently, it can refine 24,000 ounces a year.
