AGC recognizes companies' top safety records

Frank Lepori Construction Inc. of Sparks received the "Golden Hard Hat" award for safety from the the Nevada Chapter of the Associated General Contractors last week. The award is the top safety honor of the chapter.

Other safety award winners included The PENTA Building Group, recognized for its jobsite safety and training procedures.

Construction Development Service was honored for the best safety record among general contractors with under 50,000 hours worked, Frank Lepori for the best record among general contractors with more than 50,000 hours and The PENTA Building Group for the best record among general contractors with more than 150,000 hours.

Among contractors in the engineering division, PAR Electrical Contractors was recognized for the best safety record among companies with fewer than 100,000 hours worked, Reno Tahoe Construction for the best record among companies with more than 100,000 hours and Sierra Nevada Construction for the best safety record among contractors with more than 400,000 hours.

Omboli Interiors, Inc. was recognized for the best safety record among specialty contractors with under 50,000 hours worked, Reno Iron Works as best among specialty contractors with more than 50,000 hours and Briggs Electric as best specialty contractor with more than 100,000 hours.

Granite (Dayton) was recognized for the best safety record among suppliers.

AGC of America Awards, which recognize companies that either have zero incidents or are 25 percent below the national average in their division, went to Construction Development Services, Frank Lepori Construction, Gradex Construction, J & J Mechanical Inc., J.W. McClenahan Lucky Concrete Inc., Northern Nevada Concrete Inc., Omboli Interiors Inc. PAR Electrical Contractors, Q & D Construction Inc. and United Construction.

Recognized for no lost-time accidents were Basalite Concrete Products L.L.C., Capurro Trucking, Cemex/Rinker Materials, Construction Development Services Inc., Frank Lepori Construction, Inc., Gradex Construction Company Granite (C.B. Concrete), Granite (Dayton Materials Granite Aggregates (Lockwood) Gui Denby Inc., J & J Mechanical Inc., J.W. McClenahan Company, Lucky Concrete Inc., Northern Nevada Concrete Inc., Omboli Interiors Inc., PAR Electrical Contractors Inc., PDM Steel Service Center, PowerComm Solutions, Quilici Construction, Reno Iron Works Inc., Reno Tahoe Construction Inc. Silverado Excavating Company, TNT Construction Inc., United Construction Company and West Coast Contractors.
