Refinery starts second phase

Advanced Refining Concepts LLC said last week it started construction on the second phase of its refinery at Tahoe Reno Industrial Center.

The expansion will double production to 200,000 gallons a day of motor and industrial fuels, which the company produces from natural gas or biogases.

Separately, the Sparks-based company said its founders, Rudolf Gunnerman and Peter Gunnerman, have been issued a patent covering the basic components of the company's production process.
