Sierra Nevada Corp. of Sparks won a $6.2 million contract from the U.S. Navy's office of Naval Research.
The company will study and develop technology to detect aircraft that pose a threat to unmanned drone aircraft.
Among other federal contracts announced in recent days, Chromalloy Gas Turbine Corp. of Carson City won contracts totaling more than $793,000 from the U.S. Navy for repair and modification of gas generators.
Globe Turbochargers Specialities Inc. of Reno won a $238,425 turbocharger diesel contract from the U.S. Navy.
Ralbo Inc. of Sparks won a $100,000 contract from Defense Logistics Agency, which didn't provide any further details.
