Sonocine raising capital

Sonocine Inc., a Reno company that's developed a breast cancer detection technology, has started raising as much as $10 million in a private equity offering.

The company said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it plans to raise the money through sales of restricted shares to sophisticated investors. Minimum investment will be $50,000.

Sonocine has developed an automated breast ultrasound system that's used in combination with mammography to detect small breast cancers.
