SNC starts flood work

Sierra Nevada Construction of Sparks last week began work a project to realign a culvert system that drains an industrial area of east Sparks. The contract totals approximately $600,000.

The project will move the location where the drain empties in the Truckee River, currently just south of the Alamo Travel Center, about 4,500 feet to the east.

Executives of the Truckee River Flood Project say the realignment will reduce flood risk in the area.

The project is managed by Diversified Construction Services.
