Defense contractor patents to be auctioned

A package of 30 U.S. and foreign patents held by Reno's Heetronix will be sold in an online auction next month.

The company, a defense contractor that specializes in radiation and temperature sensors and controls, filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the federal bankruptcy code in September 2009.

The patents will be auctioned by IpAuctions of Reno Oct. 11-14.

Manufacturing equipment owned by the company was sold in a court-ordered bankruptcy auction this spring.
