Roger G. Gross has been named vice president of Nevada operations by Midway Gold Corp.
Gross, who will be based in Ely, most recently managed American Colloid Co. mining operations in Nevada and South Dakota. He also worked 15 years for Newmont Gold.
He earned bachelor's and master's degrees in mining engineering from the School of Mines and Engineering at Montana Tech in Butte.
