Caregivers to fight stress with color

Children know the ease and joy coloring can bring. Somehow as adults, we have lost the art of just letting colors and forms take shape on paper. Perhaps we become too critical of our drawings or maybe we turn to more "adult" releases like wine or chocolate.

But, this month, the Caregivers Support Group at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Carson City have an opportunity to work through feelings of fatigue and distress in a different way. Reverend Kim Morgan has used the book "Praying in Color," by Sybil Mac Beth with many differing groups and in numerous ecumenical conferences with great success.

All are welcome to come to the meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Church Rectory at Division and Proctor. Materials will be supplied and no artistic talent is required. This may prove to be a new way to bridge those overwhelming feelings caregivers can experience when taking care of a seriously ill or disabled loved one.

Give Dr. Deb Cash a call at 887-8846 for more details or other community caregiver information.
